Learn How to send your first email Campaign with ActiveCampaign

Which one of these powerful tools is the best choice for you?

When it comes to tools that help implement their marketing strategy, every business should consider the need for automation tools as it allows them to reach their objectives more efficiently and at the same time collect as much information as possible.

If you are looking for tools that fulfill the CRM and marketing management functionality, both ActiveCampaign and InfusionSoft (now Keap) are frontrunners, although each one has a different approach. Do you want to know which is the ideal software for you? We are going to discover the differences between one and the other so you can decide which is the option for your business.

We divided our review into the 4 most important aspects when choosing any of these 2 platforms: Email Marketing, Automation, CRM and Pricing so you can decide based upon which feature is more relevant to you.

A brief History

Keap, formerly known as infusionsoft, is a company born in 2001 and since then its market niche are small businesses, so all of its features are optimized for them. Their strategy is based on the automation of actions, and when they say automation they really mean it: Keap’s system uses computing for the majority of its tasks so it depends as little as possible on human intervention. Keap platform includes a CRM, email marketing, sales and marketing automation.

ActiveCampaign is an email marketing and automation tool that made its way in 2003. This software has established itself as one of the best for Inbound Marketing for small businesses in recent years. It combines marketing automation and sales automation / CRM, so you can create automatic flows using automatic functions which are run by artificial intelligence algorithms. By using these automatic algorithms you can be sure your campaigns and reports will be efficient.

Email Marketing

In Keap you will be able to create and automate your marketing campaigns using its construction and monitoring tools:

✓ Email Builder
✓ Triggers and actions
✓ Landing Page Builder
✓ Reports

For ActiveCampaign, email marketing is their strongest point as its email template creation and customization system allows you to send emails that are visually great for customers. The platform core functions include:

✓ Drag and Drop
Email Builder
✓ Triggers and actions
✓ Pre-built automation recipes
✓ List Segmentation
✓ Email Templates
✓ Reports

With ActiveCampaign you can send campaigns very quickly and easily with just a few clicks. It’s also possible to configure autoresponders and schedule your email campaigns.

Although both platforms comply in relation to email marketing, without a doubt activecampaign is our favorite due to its template builder and the ease of launching campaigns.

Marketing and Sales Automation

Automation is Keap’s strongest feature and allows you to automate sales, marketing strategy, and data entry. These actions are automated through conditionals and triggers that help you keep track of your leads and sales pipelines.

On the other hand, AC lets you automate email sending and tracking. Its drag and drop builder allows pipelines automation by using rules and conditionals.

Both platforms help you automate your marketing flows in a fast and intuitive way, although we prefer the way in which Keap does all this in a simpler and easier way.

CRM

Within your Keap CRM manager you can find all the information of your customers. Your contacts will not be divided into lists, as in other software and you will have as much information as possible about them. Segmentation is possible using tags and can be done automatically. It will also allow you to evaluate your leads.

Although it’s not the strong point of this platform, AC also allows you to have a CRM system in which you can manage the information of your contacts, prioritizing leads automatically. You can also automate actions depending on the information you get from your contacts.

For us, Keap handles better this feature because you will find the data in an organized and detailed way. In addition to this, you are also able to organize your tags, while at ActiveCampaig these CRM capabilities are more limited.

Pricing

InfusionSoft offers four paid plans, starting at $79 per user, per month, billed monthly. Their Pro and Max plans costs $159 and $199 each. Keap also have a plan for large businesses which you can buy by contacting their sales team.

ActiveCampaign also offers 4 plans being their lite one the more cheap, it costs $9 per month and it’s billed yearly. The other plans cost $49 $129 and $229 each.

AC wins this feature because it is the cheapest and you only have few other options which are more affordable, but they won’t give you the automation and email features that you get with ActiveCampaign.

So which one to choose?

Both ActiveCampaign and Keap are great solutions if searching for powerful software that gives you marketing automation and CRM integration. However, each platform suits better to a slightly different kind of customer.

Activecampaign is more focused on email marketing and the automation of its campaigns for small businesses. If you are a small business and your sales strategy is based on email marketing, this platform may be the perfect solution for you.

On the other hand, if you are an already established company with solid experience in marketing, Keap is your best option since its CRM capabilities, along its flow automation and in-depth analytics, will give you everything you need to increase your leads and to improve relationships with your customers.

Remember that at Digitalme we offer managed services for both platforms which are attended by our teams of experts. If you are planning to buy one of these platforms, or if you need advise about them don’t hesitate to contact us so we can arrange a call.
